Flyings for the Birds Parrot Rescue is offering bird lovers the chance to sponsor a parrot by making a $25 donation to cover the cost of food and care of a Parrot for one month. Take a look at our photo albums and choose a Parrot Or you can just let us choose a Parrot for you. We have macaws, amazons, african greys , love birds, cockatiels, conures and many other types of birds. They all need care, love and food. Local Sponsors can make an appointment to visit “their” parrot at the rescue. All sponsors will receive a photograph of their parrot and certificate of sponsorship. GRADY LOU-Our Miracle African GREY LOST and Found
When you hear that African Grey Parrots have the intelligence of a five year old child, believe it. Grady is now 4 years old, and on an early Fall evening around the first of Sept 2010 we were witness to our Baby flying out our kitchen door into the darkening sky. We had just finished supper with him and his companion grey Crackers. My daughter held the door open to call her dog and Grady found his opportunity. Grady had been raised a free flighted parrot and even taken outside on leashes in his earlier days. As he grew and we enlarged the flights we discontinued that practice. However, a parrots God given instincts are to soar into the heavens. When they are raised flying it it their love.
